Timber veneers
Our wide range of veneer species provide natural beauty and character of timber from around the world.
Crown cut, quarter cut or rotary cut options are available for most of our veneers.
Laminates
High pressure laminates are available in plain colours, woodgrains or patterns. They provide high resistance to surface scratching and impact damage.
The face of the door leaf is complemented with hardwood lipping’s, which can be exposed, concealed, or finished with our very popular S-rad details.
PVC
PVC is ideal for doors that require very high resistance to impact damage. The 2mm-thick material absorbs general knocks, while the through colour masks surface scratches.
For our encapsulated doorset range, the PVC fully encapsulates the door leaf faces and edges. Across the rest of our doorset range, the face of the door leaf is complemented with hardwood lippings, which can be exposed, concealed or finished with our very popular S-rad detail.
Paint grade
For a plain colour to complement or match door frames, paint grade doors are the ideal solution.
Faced with our Premium PG facing, the doors are lipped with hardwood which is concealed under an ultra-smooth laminate layer, designed to give a superior finish.
Colourcote
A high quality factory applied finish with a smooth sheen appearance in a range of RAL colours, exceeding the quality and performance but is not meant to compete with brush or roller applied site finishes.
Ideal for use in Schools, Hospitals, Care Homes, Hotels, Restaurants, Residential Accommodation including Kitchens, Bathrooms and Bedrooms. It is not harmful to the environment and can be applied with an anti-bacterial additive.
Available in the full range of RAL colours with a smooth sheen appearance.
Veneer
Our timber veneers can be finished with a performance lacquer or anti-bacterial coating to provide good resistance to scratches and general abrasions.
Veneers can also have an interior wood stain applied prior to application of lacquer. Colours are achieved using dyes that create excellent definition and depth.
Laminate and PVC
The timber lippings can be finished with a performance lacquer or anti-bacterial coating to provide good resistance to scratches and general abrasion.
Beading for vision panels can be finished to match lippings or painted to any RAL colour.
Paint grade
Finished with our primer coat for final decoration on-site during installation, or alternatively can be supplied fully factory finished with our Colourcote system that has the hard-wearing characteristics of a lacquer finish.
Vision panels
The choice of glazing in door leaves is primarily based on the safety of all individuals negotiating access.
Although vision panels serve a genuine purpose, they become a prominent feature that can be used to enhance the appearance of door leaves.
Our exclusive range of aperture configurations provides the means to create unique designs.
Standard glazing bead
As standard we offer three types of glazing bead – projecting, flush and steel trim. Timber beads will always be hardwood and can either be lacquered or painted to match the door face.
They are generally fixed with steel pins, punched in and filled although alternative methods such as screw fixings are available. Flush beads with laminate faced doors will have the aperture and outer corners of the bead radiused. Steel trims can be powder coated to match any RAL colour.
Premium glazing bead
In addition to our standard glazing beads, we can offer a premium range for enhanced aesthetics. Glazing beads can be concealed behind the door face to provide a clean, minimalist appearance.
Projecting beads can be machined with an additional quirk to create a distinctive feature and glazing seals can be concealed behind the timber bead to create a clean minimalistic appearance.
Standard frames
We have developed an extensive range of frames that provide our customers with a choice that is unique and exclusive to David Smith St Ives doorsets. Frames alter the appearance of the doorset and are used in different guises to achieve practical and pleasing features. The sectional profiles, the contraction and the materials used to manufacture frames contribute to the performance levels of all doorsets. We are able to combine these requirements with our doors to give the optimum doorset performance and aesthetic.
Premium frames
In addition to our standard frame types we have developed a range of designer frames which offer enhanced aesthetics and fire resistance up to 60 minutes in both single leaf and double leaf configurations.
Steel frames
For the ultimate in durability, we have developed a range of steel frame types with fire resistance up to 60 minutes in both single leaf and double leaf configurations.
