Raunds Care Home

This new 76-bed Care Home servicing the people of Raunds, Northampton features accommodation in the roof space, amenity facilities on all three floors, and staffing and en-suite facilities.

The 4349m² Care Home has an extensive roof that required framing as efficiently as possible whilst overcoming the challenges of the truss interactions with the steelwork within the roof. The splayed steel beams in both corners proved particularly challenging as did framing around a sunken plant room in the Westen wing. Using extensive experience, a design was formulated that was not only efficient to produce in the factory but also efficient for the carpenters to erect on site.

We engaged with David Smith St Ives to design, manufacture, and deliver roof trusses for our new care home in Raunds, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. Their team provided prompt technical guidance during design, produced clear calculations and drawings, and accommodated several late-stage layout changes without fuss.
Delivery was on time and split to accommodate site instructions and the installation went smoothly thanks to precise fabrication and accurate fixing details.
