Congratulations to David Smith employee Alan Butt ran the Rat Race event “The Wall” to raise money for a fellow employee who has recently had successful treatment for cancer.
Below is a message from Alan:
“I would just like to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone in the company for an overwhelming show of support for my latest adventure, never did I expect to receive as many donations as were pledged and really feel as if the company has come together to support such a good cause.
In the end it took me 18.5 hours to cover 69 miles and a gruelling day it was, but in reality it’s nothing compared to the struggle sufferer’s and their families have to go through of someone living with pancreatic cancer and with all the donations received I really hope it helps the charity in the fight against it.
At current the total raised is around £1500 with some online donations still coming in from friends and family.”
