The new school building was purposefully and thoughtfully designed with their students’ needs at its heart. The space fosters a nurturing, inclusive environment, complete with exceptional facilities where every student feels supported, inspired, and empowered to thrive.
We worked with main contractor Kier Construction and installer N H Etheridge to deliver over 260 doorsets and 65 glazed screens complete with architectural ironmongery to the project.
The doorset specification included doors with the integral Alumax fingerguard by Safehinge, Anti-ligature handles and high-level vision panels to suit the different areas of the building. The doors were faced with American White Oak veneer and included concealed Oak lippings to all four edges, the frames and screens were paint grade Hardwood.
“It’s been a real pleasure to work alongside David Smith St Ives and the wider team on the Carew Academy project. The new school has been thoughtfully designed to meet the complex needs of its students, and we’re proud that our Alumax integral finger guards will play a role in helping to keep pupils safe in such a nurturing and inclusive environment. Creating safer spaces where every child can thrive is at the heart of what we do.” – Dave Stewart, Safehinge Primera
